On 7-11 September we were in Ankara. Academics from across the Turkic world gathered for ORTAK — the Partnership in Turkic World Higher Education Certificate Program, organised by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
With colleagues from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Türkiye and the TRNC we discussed joint certificate programs, student and faculty mobility, and academic cooperation. Though we came from different lands, I saw once again that we speak the same language — literally, and with the heart.
Attending as a faculty member of the Girne American University Faculty of Communication, we discussed concrete steps for integrating TRNC higher education with the Turkic world. Every meeting opened a new door.
Let me say this sincerely: these bridges are not only for universities. Every bond we build — from cultural tourism to education partnerships — serves our goal of making Tatlısu visible. New opportunities, new visitors, new horizons for our town: all of it is hidden inside this work.
